Our commitment to bilingual education began in the 2007-2008 school year when we approved joining the program. Following a foundational "Year Zero" dedicated to planning and developing materials, we officially launched our first bilingual class in 2009-2010 with 1st year ESO students studying Mathematics and Natural Sciences in English.
Over the years, the program expanded steadily through secondary education, adding Social Sciences to the curriculum. Driven by a growing enrollment demand, we gradually increased our class lines. A major milestone was achieved in the 2024-2025 school year, when 100% of our secondary school classes successfully became part of the bilingual program.
During the 2025-2026 academic year, the language assistant program was replaced by the Communicative Competence Program in Bilingual Education. Funded by European funds, this initiative has allowed us to offer extracurricular English conversation classes in the afternoons for four student groups, alongside cultural activities like watching original version movies at the cinema.
Today, we continue to enrich our community through language immersions, cultural celebrations, and exciting student-led initiatives, including our new bilingual radio station Sierra Beats, the Sierra Fest, and our healthy recipes project.

Nuestro compromiso con la educación bilingüe comenzó en el curso 2007-2008, cuando nuestro claustro aprobó la incorporación al programa. Tras un "Año Cero" fundacional dedicado a la planificación y al desarrollo de materiales, arrancamos oficialmente en el curso 2009-2010 con una línea en 1º de ESO, impartiendo las asignaturas de Matemáticas y Ciencias Naturales en inglés.
A lo largo de los años, el programa se expandió de forma constante por toda la educación secundaria, sumando la asignatura de Ciencias Sociales al currículo. Impulsados por una demanda de matriculación cada vez mayor, fuimos incrementando gradualmente las líneas por curso. Alcanzamos un gran hito en el curso 2024-2025, cuando el 100% de nuestros grupos de secundaria pasó a formar parte del programa bilingüe.
Durante el presente curso académico 2025-2026, el programa de auxiliares ha evolucionado hacia el Programa de Competencia Comunicativa en Enseñanza Bilingüe. Gracias a la financiación con fondos europeos, esta iniciativa nos ha permitido ofrecer clases extraoficiales de conversación en inglés por las tardes para cuatro grupos de alumnos, además de actividades culturales como el visionado de películas en versión original en el cine.
A día de hoy, seguimos enriqueciendo a nuestra comunidad a través de inmersiones lingüísticas, la celebración de efemérides y emocionantes iniciativas lideradas por el alumnado, como nuestra nueva radio bilingüe Sierra Beats, el Sierra Fest y el proyecto de recetas saludables.

El lunes 29 de mayo de 2023 a las 11:30 el alumnado de 1º ESO A, B, C y F estáis invitados para poder animar a vuestro-a participante favorito-a. El ganador o la ganadora de este proyecto bilingüe no sólo tendrá el privilegio de ser el primer o primera alumno-a en subir la montaña de Sierra Bermeja, sino que también tendrá algún obsequio.
On Monday the 29th of May at 11:30, the classes of 1st of ESO A, B, C and F are invited to cheer their favourite contestant up. The winner of this 1st of ESO bilingüal project will become the 1st contestat to reach the top of of our mountain 'Sierra Bermeja' . Moreover, he or she will win a nice prize!
